Welcome to another week of SEO B.S. And, of course, before we dive into this weeks topic on “The Number 1 SEO Hack,” I have taken a little hiatus for the last six months. Some was for personal reasons; to regroup & refocus; and I was visiting family, which was long over-do.

But the good news, I am back to kick the shit out of the SEO World of spreading false news and advertising to entrepreneurs and businesses. What a waste of time and resources these businesses have to go through, to end up back at square one.

So, without further ado, let’s get this week rocking shall we?

This Week on SEO B.S.
What is the Number 1 SEO HACK?

Now, if you know me. You know that I am totally against hacks. Shortcuts! Or, some secret sauce for success. There are no hacks to success! Period!

picture of The Number 1 SEO Hack featured imageYou might be asking yourself, “Well, Chad, if there is no such thing of hacks, then what is the  Number 1 SEO Hack. If there even is a hack at all?”

Over the last few years, SEO has changed a lot compared to back in the day. Back in the day, a person could only work on a handful of SEO Tactics and rank their website. Further, I still run into old school SEO experts that still believe this philosophy. But, only in opinion, today, SEO is just too competitive. You have to think of SEO like a giant puzzle. The more puzzle pieces you have, the better.

Let’s get to the #1 Search Engine Optimization Hack

If there is a hack for SEO and we were talking about the number one SEO hack it would have to be “Slow and Steady Wins the Race!”

This is what I mean…You have to be Patient.

Remember…

Slow and Steady Wins the Race!

What we have to think about is – What holds most businesses back in getting results in SEO?

    1. The Lack of knowledge in Search Engine Optimization.
    2. Businesses want Immediate Gratification.

So, we have the lack of knowledge from the business or who ever manages the SEO expert; and at the same time the business wants Immediate Gratification.

From personal experience, this happens to most companies and/or Marketing Agencies. In a company, my boss who hires me has either no knowledge or very limited knowledge in SEO. And, at the same, they are the one telling you what to do in SEO. So, besides you guiding the ship in SEO, your boss is guiding it.

At the same time this is occurring, your boss wants Immediate Gratification. They want to see immediate results. And, further, wants you to track everything weekly, bi-weekly and monthly. Then if something not working, constantly change it.

Now what is wrong with this scenario? Listen up because most companies fall into this trap.

If Number 1 SEO Hack = Slow & Steady Wins the Race! What Happens in Reverse?
This is Called Over-Optimization!

No matter what industry you are in, people what immediate gratification. They want results now. And it does not stop here. You have the marketing industry, marketing to companies using strategies of immediate gratification. It is a vicious cycle.

What does all this mean in SEO?

Let me give you an example. I was doing the SEO for this company and my boss told me to focus on keywords, backlinks, and SEO Reports. Then he went further, stating that if I am focusing on the keywords and tracking it through reporting software. If he did not see results within one or one-and-a-half weeks, then we can change the keywords. This is a great example of Over-Optimization!

picture of Slow and Steady Wins the Race instagramWith search engines like Google, it will minimum take 30 days to see some sort of results. This is minimum! Most of the time, it may take 3-6 months, if not a whole year. What happens is that if you are constantly making changes like example above, you are not giving the search engines a chance to propagate the changes.

This is exactly what I mean: Slow & Steady Wins the Race!

When a company chooses to do their SEO. They have to understand, they are in it for the long-term.
